The Peace Tri{be} is dedicated to providing communities with access to free public education and affordable sustainable housing. The organization has evolved from a harmonious blend of three guiding principles. (1) Tribe culture is rooted firmly in the wisdom of ‘Thinking Globally & Acting Locally‘. (2) We have a ‘Triple Bottom Line‘ foundation; People, Planet & Prosperity. (3) We follow the inspirational footsteps of Mohandas Gandhi, committed to ‘{Be}ing the Change We Wish to See in the World’. Our mission is to build a global network of Sustainable Living Community Centers (SLCC) which provide free public education in three valuable fields of study – PermaCulture & Sustainable Living – Arts & Culture – Health & Vitality. We also provide a model of affordable cooperative community housing for teachers, local residents and traveling students. In abbreviation we refer to these educational communities as Welcome Home Communities (WHC). The intention of the WHC is to guide local individuals towards a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle. We empower local communities as a whole with the skills, tools and knowledge necessary to regain a strong voice in the planning of our communities. Our organization represents the collective voice of individuals who are ready, willing and excited to work towards a more sustainable future.
In conjunction with the Educational component of WHC’s, each community is comprised of a Sustainable Residential component. The Residential component is a forward thinking model of sustainable neighborhood design and conscious urban planning. This provides a living example of 10-20 people working together to build and live within a highly efficient cooperative residential community (similar to that of a neighborhood-cooperative). The teachers of the classes & workshops will have the opportunity to live in the WHC at a very affordable cost in return for their service to the community.
The Peace Tri{be} Organization highly values the dissemination of natural wisdom and fundamental living principles. Our website (www.PeaceTribe.org) functions as a communications hub to connect people all around the world who are working towards sustainable community design. A portion of our team is dedicated to filming, researching and exploring sustainable living models all around the globe, and sharing this information with the public through the means of art, music and documentary films. We are an open source organization devoted to sharing technology, wisdom & knowledge.
Our Educational Outreach Program is composed of a small group of teachers who travel to elementary and middles schools all around the country (eventually the world). This team provides the children with a full day of exciting and interactive educational projects which include music, art, games, yoga, organic gardening, nutritional diet and simple sustainable living practices that they can share with their parents.
On our most local level, the Peace Tri{be} is asking individuals to begin participating in simple weekly challenges. Our website has a calendar of daily recommended steps of action that anyone can take. These little individual steps accumulate to form a collective leap towards creating a more well-balanced global community. The challenges are intended to help us all become aware of straightforward daily practices that guide us towards a more sustainable lifestyle. With simple personal actions we can all enjoy a healthy planet, create less waste and consume less energy.
The Peace Tribe does not see a world as divided by lines in the sand, borders, governments, economic systems, politics, and differences. Our hearts, minds and eyes see a diverse and beautiful global community of individuals whom wish to celebrate life and humanity together as ONE. We are a global tribe of ambassadors living our shared message of truth, love and compassion.
