Why

- WHY Peace Tri{be}? -

Why Peace Tribe Global? Our answer is simple… We want everyone on this planet to have a life filled with love and joy. The Peace Tri{be} has arisen to build a dedicated team willing to do everything possible to create a happy, well-balanced and healthy world for all. We are placing the brush in hand, and empowering local communities to paint the most beautiful life imaginable. Peace Tri{be} is saying ‘buckle up’, and giving local community members the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of their own future.

We are ready to…

  • reduce the cost of living
  • raise the quality of life
  • conserve energy & protect the natural environment
  • improve the health, happiness and overall well-being of the entire world (which includes ourselves)

There are presently many concerns unfolding in our global economy and natural environment. We are consuming energy and natural resources at an excessive rate, while producing large amounts of pollution and waste. Many of our food and water sources are controlled by large multinational corporations, and have become contaminated with pesticides and genetically modified organisms. Our population is plagued with increasing degrees of cancer, obesity, diabetes and heart problems partially due to unhealthy foods and stressful lifestyles. In some measure, the high prices of our foods are associated with the costs of shipping, manufacturing and marketing. The global marketplace has become extremely volatile as stock values and world currencies continue to fluctuate with the fluidity of the ocean’s tides. An ever widening gap is forming between the local individuals whom make up our communities; and those whom own and control our communities. It is becoming an all too common scenario, where a high percentage of local real estate is owned by large banks, corporations, government or wealthy landowners whom profit greatly from loaning, renting or leasing the land to local community members. Unfortunately, it is also common for land owners to care more about profit than the quality of life and well-being of the community members whom are inhabiting the land. A clear example of this is the large amount of home foreclosures, high unemployment rates and rising loan default statistics. These statistics speak clearly to the division that is forming between the people whom live in our communities, and those who control them. If I have a thirty year mortgage on my home and have paid off one third of my principle in ten years… do I really own my home? Or, in theory does the bank own me for another twenty years? In our current economic climate what happens to my mortgage if I loose my job… what happens to my life? We find it disheartening that our modern society has shaped a lifestyle in which many people find it necessary to turn towards drugs and alcohol as an escape from the stresses of their daily life.

Peace Tri{be} is here to remind us that life is about more than stress, to-do lists, mortgages and paychecks. The universe is urging all of us to wake and up and remember that life is a beautiful gift to be celebrated in joy with friends, family and community. We are part of a mysterious, complex and magical system where much of what we needs grows from the soil beneath our feet. Seeds are planted in the earth and rise towards the warming sun which shines on our shoulders, providing us with food and nourishment. Crystal clear waters filled with minerals flow effortlessly from natural springs nestled into our mountains. The list of fascinating systems that provide us with the gift life goes on and on. At Peace Tri{be} Global we do our best not focus on what is wrong in the world. We think it is necessary to be aware of the concerns listed in the prior paragraph as a starting point to evolve forward in a more conscious way. We prefer to focus our energy on those things which we want to see and experience more of in life… smiles, laughter, celebration, health, dancing, love and joy.

Peace Tri{be} Global is providing an alternative societal model, where communities have an opportunity for collective ownership in a nonprofit financial model (Cooperative Nonprofit Educational Community Ownership – CNECO). In this nonprofit development system all financial matters are transparent to the public, and decided upon through democratic vote. This nonprofit alternative allows for profits to go back into the community for further development of affordable housing and free public education; as opposed to exorbitant profits, salaries and bonuses for company owners and political bribes. The Peace Tri{be} is bringing security and joy back home to our local communities. We are reminding ourselves that we have the ability, skill and intelligence to work together towards a common goal. The Peace Tri{be} is helping us remember that we are all part of this together… we all have something to offer… we have the ability to build our homes and grow our food with our own two hands; and the helping hands of our friends in the community. We are bringing our communities back to our roots; growing our food somewhere nearby or potentially in our backyard. We respect the beautiful concept of everyone in the village helping others in the village prosper… I help you build your house… you help me build my house… and so on. By working together as a tribe we can release our fears of struggling for survival alone, and move towards the healthy reality of thriving together as one. As an alternative to private-profit driven ownership, we are educating communities how to cooperatively communicate and collectively share the ownership of land and resources.

The Peace Tri{be} is our collective voice of inspiration and support to regain control of our local communities, and to care for our natural environment. We are an organizing force dedicated to finding innovative and forward thinking solutions to our current global concerns, and implementing these solutions into our local communities. Human beings have sensitively inhabited this planet for many thousands of years without threatening the biosphere. Only recently, in the last several hundred years have we begun to threaten the earth’s ecosystem. This is the result of many complex factors, of which include rapid population growth and our energy intensive industrial revolution based upon fossil fuels. It is important that we make ourselves aware of these situations, and begin taking the steps necessary to guide our future in a more optimistic, healthy and harmonious direction. Peace Tri{be} is here to root the philosophy of thinking globally and acting locally.
