Full Vision Outline

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – Dr. Seuss (the Lorax)

Community =  derived from the Latin communitas (cum, “with/together” + munus, “gift”), a broad term for fellowship or organized society.

Sustainable Living Arts & Culture Community Center (Welcome Home Community)(1) A center of higher education where teachers and students live, work and socialize together on property in a collectively created, shared and defined community.  (2) Spaces designed and built combining the facets of an educational center, cultural center, organic farm and sustainable residential community. {a modern day ecological tribal/technology village} (3) Juicy Pods of Consciousness for Students of Life whom are living, learning, sharing, and teaching by example. (4) World Citizens/Peaceful Warriors of Planet Earth… PEACE Tri{be} Community Builders

Permaculture =  an approach to designing human settlements and agricultural systems that mimic the relationships found in natural ecologies.  Permaculture is sustainable land use design. This is based on ecological and biological principles, often using patterns that occur in nature to maximise effect and minimise work. Permaculture aims to create stable, productive systems that provide for human needs, harmoniously integrating the land with its inhabitants. The ecological processes of plants, animals, their nutrient cycles, climatic factors and weather cycles are all part of the picture. Inhabitants’ needs are provided for using proven technologies for food, energy, shelter and infrastructure. Elements in a system are viewed in relationship to other elements, where the outputs of one element become the inputs of another. Within a Permaculture system, work is minimised, “wastes” become resources, productivity and yields increase, and environments are restored. Permaculture principles can be applied to any environment, at any scale from dense urban settlements to individual homes, from farms to entire regions.  Permaculture as a systematic method was first practised by Austrian farmer Sepp Holzer in the 1960s and then scientifically developed by Australians Bill Mollison and David Holmgren and their associates during the 1970s in a series of publications.  The word permaculture is a portmanteau of permanent agriculture, as well as permanent culture.  The intent is that, by rapidly training individuals in a core set of design principles, those individuals can design their own environments and build increasingly self-sufficient human settlements — ones that reduce society’s reliance on industrial systems of production and distribution that Mollison identified as fundamentally and systematically destroying Earth’s ecosystems.  While originating as an agro-ecological design theory, permaculture has developed a large international following. This “permaculture community” continues to expand on the original ideas, integrating a range of ideas of alternative culture, through a network of publications, permaculture gardens, intentional communities, training programs, and internet forums. In this way, permaculture has become a form of architecture of nature and ecology as well as an informal institution of alternative social ideals.

Sustainability =  the capacity to endure. In ecology the word describes how biological systems remain diverse and productive over time. For humans it is the potential for long-term maintenance of wellbeing, which in turn depends on the wellbeing of the natural world and the responsible use of natural resources.  Sustainability has become a wide-ranging term that can be applied to almost every facet of life on Earth, from local to a global scale and over various time periods. Long-lived and healthy wetlands and forests are examples of sustainable biological systems. Invisible chemical cycles redistribute water, oxygen, nitrogen and carbon through the world’s living and non-living systems, and have sustained life for millions of years. As the earth’s human population has increased, natural ecosystems have declined and changes in the balance of natural cycles has had a negative impact on both humans and other living systems.  There is abundant scientific evidence that humanity is living unsustainably, and returning human use of natural resources to within sustainable limits will require a major collective effort.Ways of living more sustainably can take many forms from reorganising living conditions (e.g., ecovillages, eco-municipalities and sustainable cities), reappraising economic sectors (permaculture, green building, sustainable agriculture), or work practices (sustainable architecture), using science to develop new technologies (green technologies, renewable energy), to adjustments in individual lifestyles that conserve natural resources.
Communication =  the process of transferring information from one entity to another… commonly defined as “the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs”

Commune =  an intentional community of people living together, sharing common interests, property, possessions, resources, work, and income. In addition to the communal economy, consensus decision-making, non-hierarchical structures and ecological living have become important core principles for many communes

Cohousing =  a cohousing community is a type of intentional community composed of private homes with full kitchens, supplemented by extensive common facilities. A cohousing community is planned, owned and managed by the residents, groups of people who want more interaction with their neighbours. Common facilities vary but usually include a large kitchen and dining room where residents can take turns cooking for the community. Other facilities may include a laundry, pool, child care  facilities, offices, internet access, guest rooms, game room, TV room, tool room or a gym.  Through spatial design and shared social and management activities, cohousing facilitates intergenerational interaction among neighbors, for the social and practical benefits. There are also economic and environmental benefits to sharing resources, space and items.  In cohousing there is a strong emphasis on creating community. Members cook and share meals in the Common House on one, two or more nights a week. Shared child care, gardening, and other activities, as well as shared governance all foster a sense of community. Generally, consensus is used as a means of decision-making. That is, the effort is made to hear all voices in the community, and to make major decisions only with the agreement of all members.

Utopia =  a name for an ideal community or society, which is taken from Of the Best State of a Republic, and of the New Island Utopia, a book written in 1516 by Sir Thomas More describing a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean, possessing a seemingly perfect socio-politico-legal system. The term has been used to describe both intentional communities that attempted to create an ideal society, and fictional societies portrayed in literature.

The word comes from the Greek: οὐ, “not”, and τόπος, “place”, indicating that More was utilizing the concept as allegory and did not consider such an ideal place to be realistically possible. The English homophone Eutopia, derived from the Greek εὖ, “good” or “well”, and τόπος, “place”.

Shambhala =  in Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Shambhala ( Tibetan: བདེ་འབྱུང་) is a mythical kingdom hidden somewhere in Inner Asia. It is mentioned in various ancient texts, including the Kalachakra Tantra.

Whatever its historical basis, Shambhala gradually came to be seen as a Buddhist Pure Land, a fabulous kingdom whose reality is visionary or spiritual as much as physical or geographic. It was in this form that the Shambhala myth reached the West, where it influenced non-Buddhist as well as Buddhist spiritual seekers — and, to some extent, popular culture in general.  Shambhala (Tib. bde ‘byung) is a Sanskrit term comprising swayam + bhala meaning self benefited or swayam + bala meaning self powered. Commonly it is understood to be a “place of peace/tranquility/happiness”.

the Peace Tri{be} Vision

In most simple terms, the Peace Tri{be} Global is an organizing force working to create a more healthy, harmonious, joyous and sustainable world. We are the collective voice and action of individuals whom are ready to step up to the plate and take a swing at making a positive shift in this world. We are doing this through the most basic building blocks in society; cultivating healthy community, education and art. Our mission is to create a global network of energy efficient and joyous educational communities that will act as catalysts to inspire and support the evolution of consciousness through yoga, art, meditation, indigenous wisdom, music, organic gardening, nutrition and permaculture. We are building local sustainable communities and neighborhoods that share free education with the public.

“It is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community – a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the earth’s survival.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

Peace Tribe Universal Principles
  • communities designed, planned and guided by principles of permaculture (regenerative living systems)
  • affordable housing (reduce living costs and home expenses)
  • homes built with healthy local natural materials
  • homes designed with natural methods of passive solar heating and cooling
  • reduce resources and energy used to build homes
  • reduce amount of energy used by local community
  • generate energy from a local renewable resource (solar, hydro, wind and geothermal)
  • homes, neighborhoods and communities designed with respect to local ecology
  • local affordable source of healthy organic food (local farm within 30 miles or community garden)
  • local source of clean water (natural source, well, water filtration systems and rainwater catchment)
  • efficient use and conservation of water (gray-water systems)
  • creating less waste (within community & personal lifestyle)
  • composting waste (creating fertile soil)
  • local connection to indigenous culture, practices and wisdom
  • wise & efficient use of modern technology
  • balanced union of science & spirit
  • free public education (in support of healthy living, sustainability & creative expression)
  • raising the daily quality of life (overall well-being & happiness)
  • share living resources with community members for optimum energy efficiency and resource management
  • share living responsibilities with community members for efficient time & energy management (more personal time to enjoy life)
  • share the joys and celebration of life with friends and family in harmonious community

Peace Tribe Secondary Principles

  • creating a safe and inspiring space for exploration (new and innovative societal models of living, communication, social capital, & philosophy)
  • exploring alternative financial models of private and cooperative ownership
  • alternative economics and systems of employment and service
  • provide a welcoming sense of support and inspiration in our homes and communities
  • spread peace, harmony and sustainability through out local communities around the world
  • creating sacred space to practice healthy communication and conflict resolution within local communities and neighboring nations (non-violent, harmonious and productive)
  • building our ideal society (dreams become our reality when we wake up)

We will spread awareness of this connected and natural wisdom through a serious of artistic documentaries. Our film and production team will travel the world gathering valuable knowledge from unique tribes and intentional communities. We will be seeking out creative, sustainable and harmonious living practices from different cultures and generations, and sharing this information with rest of the world through the lenses of our cameras and our Internet platform.

As the film team is traveling the world in search of community wisdom and insight, another portion of the Tri{be} team will be focused on creating our first educational community in California. The first ‘Welcome Home’ community and home base of Tri{be} is being created in Encinitas, California. ‘Welcome Home Encinitas’ will serve as the headquarters for Tri{be}, as well as an educational center offering the surrounding community of San Diego free public classes and workshops in yoga, permaculture, music, art, dance, meditation, organic gardening, nutrition, cooking, healing arts and martial arts. The teachers will live within the communities (Residential Centers of Learning) as well as some of the students. Once ‘Welcome Home Encinitas’ is fully in action and thriving, we will begin to expand our community vision. Our full plan includes ‘Welcome Home’ communities and educational centers all around the world. The global network is an invaluable facet of our vision, as it will offer our teachers and students the freedom to explore numerous countries, indigenous practices and cultures; deepening and broadening our collective knowledge and experience. The Tribe will have the opportunity to do this exploration and learning while being plugged into local ‘Welcome Home’ communities where they feel safe, supported and inspired.

“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.” – Howard Zinn

A Welcome from the Peace Tri{be}

In celebration and gratitude we warmly welcome you to the Peace Tribe.  Many of us have been feeling the inner call… feeling a shift in the world… feeling like the moment is NOW… and we are honored to say that YES – the moment is NOW – for our Tribe… the Earth Tribe… our ONE Tribe… the Peace Tribe.  Your intuition is correct that things are changing, and we now have the opportunity to come together as friends, family and community to facilitate this change towards a more healthy and harmonious world.

“When we dream alone, it is only a dream. But when we dream together, it is the beginning of a new reality.” – Unknown Author

It is time to stop fighting with each other and begin communicating.  It is time to stop the wars… it is time to build schools and plant gardens.  It is time for our hearts to guide us in art and celebration.  It is time to experience the joy and abundance that is offered right here in front of us on this beautiful planet.  It is time to believe that everything and everyone is sacred and connected… to honor and respect everyone and everything.  It is time to believe in ourselves… to believe we can accomplish anything we put our minds to.  It is time to believe we can clean up this planet.  It is time to stop polluting our oceans, rivers and air.  It is time to stop using the Earth’s resources in a wasteful manner.  It is time to have the bottom line of business be based upon what we are providing to better the world in a sustainable manner.  It is time to understand that money can be a form of energy used to create a more healthy and sustainable world; not an energy used to control people out of fear, force or power.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.” – Jimi Hendrix

It is time for us to come together as friends, families and communities… time to remember how to grow our own food… to help and support each other in health and happiness… to start using renewable sources of energy… to start using our natural resources wisely… to listen to the indigenous wisdom that surrounds us… to stop creating so much waste… to start composting the waste we do create and converting it into fertile soil… to remember and realize the social capital we already have within our communities that is not dependent on money… it is time for us to step up and engage Life in this present moment.  It is time for us to begin building our communities in a sustainable way and working together to strengthen our Tribe.

The Peace Tribe is a grassroots movement created by all of us whom want to support this vision of a healthy, happy and sustainable world.  We can do this now by using the free social media available to us such as Facebook… we can spread the vision of the Peace Tribe like wildflowers through the virtual fields of Facebook… we can invite all of our friends to join the call… and support this grassroots movement as a collective Tribe.  Just to bring to light the power we have at our fingertips, there are over 400 million users on Facebook… this theoretically means that we as individuals can work together to spread this message to over 400 million people just by inviting friends on Facebook.  Once we are connected virtually we can begin to communicate.  Our vision is ambitious… a grassroots effort to unite 6.7 billion people whom are part of their own unique tribes to unite and work together towards ONE common goal… a healthy, happy and harmonious planet.  So I am asking you please, if you believe in this vision of working together to create a beautiful and healthy world; please forward this message and invite ALL of your friends and family to join the Tribe!  Post this group to your Facebook profile and help spread the LOVE to everyone you know!  The progress and reach we can make as individuals is extremely valuable, yet we can only accomplish so much on our own. Working together as a team our collective efforts are exponentially more powerful than our individual efforts… our collective influence is more than 1 + 1 = 2 … our collective consciousness is more like 1 + 1 + 1 + … = infinity squared!

“Those who say it can not be done should get out of the way of the person doing it.” – Chinese Proverb

This work can begin right now with ourselves in our own communities.  The Peace Tribe is asking all of us to begin gathering as small groups of friends… small tribes of maybe 10 or 12 people to begin planning what little things we can do to start building strength, support and sustainability in our local community; and how we can work together to help the Peace Tribe grow exponentially.  We are beginning to have weekly gatherings here in San Diego, California… and we invite you to begin doing the same in whatever town, city or country you live in.  If we begin as small groups (maybe even 3 or 4 people) and begin working as a collective Tribe our power and reach will grow as a united force.  This is a Tribe of global citizens who no longer see the World as divided countries, lines or borders; yet as a connected global community of individuals whom wish to celebrate life and humanity.  I want to thank you personally for taking the time to read this, and for your participation in helping create a beautiful world!

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – Dr. Seuss (the Lorax)

Peace Tri{be} Manifesto

The teammates here at Tri{be} offer our blessings and gratitude to this beautiful and wild gift of life. May our alignment flow with the Eternal consciousness, and to that which we may not always see with our eyes or know with our minds… we offer our love and support to the Divine that is flowing through each and everyone of us at all moments… may we all listen to the wisdom that arises from within each of our own hearts… a self knowing and knowledge that arises from deep inside. May we align with those whom have care, wisdom, joy, compassion and love in their being.

What in the World is Happening?!  the Peace Tri{be} is our response to the World

We have prophecies of universal shifts in consciousness, the potential Apocalypse, natural disasters, religions killing each other in the name of peace, oppressive dictators, greed driven financial systems milking every cent out of our world citizens, power hungry politicians and multinational corporations, the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, complete disregard in regions of the world for natural habitats and wildlife, and possible extraterrestrial messages of DNA with 3 strands left in wheat fields of the UK! At the same time, we have individuals dedicating their lives to helping the poor, organizations focused on healing the sick, the formation of global peacekeeping entities, philanthropists donating billions of dollars to charities in hope of bettering the world, innovations in communication, technologies that are harnessing renewable sources of energy, religions and spirituality’s joining together in harmony to celebrate both their diversities and similarities, and bohemian festivals of music and art dedicated to peace. What does it all mean?! We have NO idea… and accept the fact that life may never make complete sense to us.  In response, Tri{be} is promoting the act of joyously and adventurously stepping into this wild life and participating in any way we can; to continue making this world a better place for ourselves and the generations to come.

“anything can be betrayed -
anyone can be forgiven -
except those who lack the courage of their own greatness”
-the Fountainhead

From within this apparent chaos there is an underlying movement, evolution and revolution forming… we can’t really call it ‘new‘… because in a way it is extremely ‘old‘… at times like this words can get in the way of trying to explain something that is truly in-explainable… it can be felt in the heart. This entity can be explained very simply… ‘IT‘ is an entity that values and respects the connectedness of EVERYTHING and EVERYONE. This entity is within all of us, and shares with us the wisdom and knowledge that we are all connected. EVERYTHING and EVERYONE are connected in one way or another… not only here on Earth… EVERYTHING in the Universe… every cell in our bodies… and beyond what we have not seen yet! It is from this understanding and remembering that Peace Tri{be} Global is arising.

the Welcome hOMe Vision

the Basics of a Welcome Home Experience

Our mission is to do our part in creating a healthy, well-balanced and harmonious world. We are doing this through the creation of educational communities that are as energy efficient, sustainable and self-sufficient as possible. ‘Welcome Home Communities‘ are centers of higher learning and living that provide affordable housing and free public education. One of our primary channels of focus is permaculture. Permaculture is a holistic and regenerative approach to living, building and creating a sustainable society. In simple terms it is a design toolkit for human habitation. The design systems of our communities will include elements of organic gardening, cooking, nutrition, compost, natural building materials/methods and the use of renewable energies. The community centers will have numerous other channels of health and creativity which include yoga, art, meditation, music, dance, healing arts, martial arts and harmonious communication practices.

“…all things needed to sustain life be gathered within a five mile radius.” – Gandhi’s definition of ideal sustainability

Welcome Home is our response to some of society’s most pressing concerns such as the conservation of natural resources, fossil fuels, renewable energy, quality of life, building practices, urban planning, community planning, food sources, financial structures, banking systems, political systems, individual health, community health and overall well-being. We are not claiming that we have the answers to all of the world’s problems, but we are offering Welcome Home Communities as potential solutions to some of life’s most basic necessities. We are creating a focused case study on the most basic, simple and beautiful building blocks of human society and habitation. We are applying natural living systems to human habitation and focusing on the most efficient use of time and resources, while also focusing on the basics of just ‘being’ and enjoying life. We are attempting to separate from the chaotic noise, distraction, marketing, materialism and profit driven living of modern day life. Welcome Home focuses on the basic necessities of life; a healthy local source of food, a safe and sacred home to live within, a reasonably priced home (rent/mortgage/cooperative ownership), good friends, supportive and inspiring community, local indigenous wisdom, education and health. We are combining ancient and sacred methods of living with the land, with innovative technologies of modern day science. On one hand we are paying attention to the most simple concepts of rainwater catchment to conserve water, while at the same time harnessing the sun’s energy with innovative technology and photovoltaic cells. We see this present moment in history as our opportunity to blend the old and the new; indigenous wisdom and spirit with modern applications and systems.

Community Components: The combined components that make up each community.

Components:
  • Living/Residential:  The communities will actually be the home of many of the teachers and students, as well as temporary lodging for traveling students. The living spaces will range from private and independent living spaces with private kitchen and bath, to shared living spaces with shared communal spaces and facilities.
  • Work/Service:  The residents of the community will both live and teach on-site.  This eliminates the need for time and energy to be consumed while commuting to work.
  • Social/Gathering:  The communities will serve as a community gathering place.  This eliminates the need for time and energy to be used to travel somewhere else in the city to gather with friends for fun and relaxation.  Many of our friends already live on-site and much of our entertainment is provided by the community itself.
  • Education:  The communities will function as a space for classes and workshops.  At least one day of the week there will be a free class for the surrounding community in all of the modalities taught on property.  Their will be a tuition for the more in depth workshops and traveling curriculum (GTEC).
  • Cultural:  The communities will provide a space for the residents and surrounding community to gather for celebrations of unique and various forms of music, art, and spiritual practices.  They will also be a resource for local residents to come and learn about and from the indigenous peoples of the region.
  • Sustainability:  All facets of each community will take into account a deep respect and connection with the surrounding nature and environment.  In depth and authentic practices of sustainable living will be taken into account in all systems of the community including the building practices and materials, as well as the use of the soil for agricultural systems.

A Global Network of Cultural Education

Peace Tri{be is building our global network of sustainable and educational communities to create a united world tribe composed of diverse cultures and indigenous roots.  As well as being a resource for local residents to attend classes, workshops and retreats; the communities will also act as worldwide travel destinations where students can learn skills and living practices from the indigenous peoples of the land.  There will be a ‘Global Wisdom and Education Curriculum’ (GWEC) consisting of varying length programs from 1 month to 12 months.  The traveling students can stay in each community from 1 month up to 4 months before traveling on to another Welcome Home Educational Center in another portion of the world.  This program offers the students first hand experience from a diverse selection of native teachers all around the world.  This global experience will offer the students the opportunity to realize we are all unique and completely different, we are all kind of the same, and we are all exactly the same.  Our mission here at Tri{be} is to spread the message that we are all our unique selves, and we are all ONE, at the same time… we are all the unique and individual self expression of a wave, and we all are part of the same ocean… each individual wave is part of the one ocean.

Collaborative Interdisciplinary University/Organization Research Project

We fully embrace the beauty of collaboration; knowing that the sum of the whole is more than the additive sum of individual efforts.  When wisdom, knowledge, resources and energy are combined the optimum results are achieved.  This is why we are reaching out to all synergistic Organizations and Universities to create a collaborative interdisciplinary research project; with the intent of applying and focusing the gathered wisdom into the creation of the first Welcome Home Community… ONE of the most energy efficient, resourceful, healthy, sustainable and abundant communities on Earth.  This model can then be shared and duplicated all around the world… having a powerful collective influence and effect.

We are inviting students, professors and researchers from numerous disciplines and universities to join us on this project.  We are also reaching out to many of the organizations whom are already united and working towards a similar cause; a healthy, happy and harmonious world.  We have several properties that we are looking at in the San Diego area as the starting point for this collaborative project.  Once we come to an agreement on a site, we can begin the project.  We are asking professors and students from different disciplines to work together on creating this project.  Basically we are uniting all disciplines necessary to research and create the most ideal and sustainable community on Earth.  This project will include every facet of community life; the use of the land and soil, materials and methods of construction, sources of energy, food source, removal of waste, non-creation of waste, revenue, social capital, financial systems, alternative economics, urban planning, models of ownership, methods of organization and government, law, decision making process, alternative and harmonious means of communication, health, nutrition, work, community service, faith and spirituality, cultural beliefs and practices… and anything else we may have forgotten!

Once we have selected the property we will begin the calculations to find the most optimum number of inhabitants in the community.  We have been looking at sites that vary in size from 2 acres up to 15 acres.  Depending on which site is chosen the community will consist of a range from 10 to 75 members.  The community will be as self sufficient as possible; being constructed in the most energy efficient manner with the most natural and healthy materials, creating all of its’ own energy on site and giving energy back to the grid, growing enough organic food on-site to feed 75% (or whatever the optimum calculated ratio ends up being) of the community with a nutritional vegetarian diet, and sufficient social capital or revenue to sustain the community with all of its’ needs plus 25% to attain the necessary organic food to keep the community healthy and nourished.

Eco-Community Outreach Education Program – The Good Vibes Team (GVT)

Along with offering classes and workshops for the surrounding community, we also have an amazing team of teachers that travel to local elementary and middle schools.  They travel in a super groovy converted bus that runs completely on bio-fuels and solar power.  Our team of teachers will share with the children information about sustainable living and things they can do at home with their parents to have a more friendly impact on the Earth.  These classes for the children will include organic gardening, composting practices, and simple energy and water conservation tips for the home.  Part of the Good Vibes experience for the children will be workshops focused on communication and expression.  The GVT arrives with a vast collection of instruments and art tools for the children to use.  Our teachers will also lead workshops for the children in yoga, dance, music and art.  The GVT will journey all around California sharing conscious and fun knowledge with the children and their families.  The Peace Tri{be} sees our children as one of the most important parts of this movement towards a more sustainable and harmonious planet.  The GVT will share this information in a fun and easily understandable way!  The GVT team knows that the children are a very important part of our future!

Eco-Retreat Centers

The Welcome Home Communities will also serve as locations for various Eco-Retreats with affiliated organizations.  The communities will provide an inspiring model of living by example, and will be the perfect location for many different types of retreats.  Our communities are located in beautiful natural environments all around the World.  The architecture and accommodations are examples of cutting edge sustainable design. The settings are tranquil, peaceful and full of joy… an ideal setting for many group retreats!  The retreat opportunities offer another source of revenue for the communities to sustain themselves.

International Refugee Camps & Disaster Relief

We want to share our model for sustainable community development with those who need it most.  We will train traveling teams of Sustainable Community Development gurus that can be sent out into volatile situations such as refugee camps or disaster relief locations.  The traveling teams will be trained at our Home Base in San Diego.  We will have one specialist trained in all of the various necessary community building disciplines, that is ready and willing to travel into situations where their skills are needed.  Our traveling team of Community Development gurus must complete our 6 month community internship program before being sent out into the field.  The people in these volatile situations are already experiencing so much difficulty and suffering, it is our team’s job to make their situation as healthy and positive as possible.  Often these temporary communities that spontaneously form become a home for the people for an indefinite amount of time.  Our traveling team can help the people make these communities as safe, healthy and enjoyable as possible.  Some of these communities become the permanent home of the individuals making up the community, so the Peace Tri{be} wants to be of service in any way we can.  We want to help them create a beautiful new home and community.

(r)Evolutionary Roots: The Film Project

TRI{BE} the Film Project – a global community of individuals working together to integrate sustainable living practices, health, joy and education into local communities.  The first step of our mission is to spread awareness through the lens of our camera in an artistic and educational documentary.  We will begin right here in our local community of Encinitas/San Diego and other portions of California.  Our exploration will then travel to several communities nestled into the shores of Hawaii.  When the film reels fall silent on the Big Island, our journey will carry us onward in search of thriving eco-villages all around the world.  Our story will not only document the communities as a collective, we will take our viewers deep into the emotional lives of individual community members up close and personally.

We will be capturing and sharing with the world community living practices that are flourishing with harmony and efficiency.  We will also document and share the living practices that are not functioning perfectly; with hopes of seeking out solutions to these issues.  Our focus will be optimistic and forward thinking with the intention of sharing valuable knowledge with communities on different sides of the world.  We see local communities and tribes as a microcosm to the macrocosm of society.  The film will take into account all facets of life and community.

TRI{BE} will delve deeply into all aspects of sustainability and permaculture, as well as individual sources of joy and health.  No stone will go unturned as we navigate natural building practices and materials; sources of energy, food, water, waste and revenue.  From village to village, we will inquire into their various styles of healthy communication and governing practices.  We will examine different forms of trade and financial systems within the tribes, as well as interactions between the tribe and the surrounding community as a whole.

We see the individuals, communities, neighborhoods and tribes as the threads that weave together our tapistry of villages, towns and cities here on Earth.  As well as the functional facets of the communities, we will burrow into the deep sources of joy and expression from the individual community members.  We will take our viewers on a personal and intimate journey with the people whom make up these tribes.  The intentions of these various communities are infinite; some finding inspiration in yoga, music, art, and meditation… while others source their fulfillment in nature, healthy food, dance or spirituality.

Regardless of the specific community intention; our team of tribal ambassadors are seeking out and sharing with the world, unique and harmonious living practices that create health and joy within a community.  This film is a celebration of both the diversity and unity existing within our collective culture.

“It is possible that the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community – a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a community practicing mindful living. This may be the most important thing we can do for the earth’s survival.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

At the present moment there is a small core group of us whom are actively participating in the production of this film, yet we wish to manifest this project in a new way.  Our desire is to engage the Global community in the creative process and evolution of this Tribal Organization.  We want this whole production to be as transparent as possible while actively inviting the Global community to join us on the mission!

We are in the process of developing our cyber-tribe (Internet based community website) which will enable us to stay connected with all of your voices from around the world.  We want you to share with us your thoughts, ideas and inspiration.  Once our website is complete you will be able to engage in our entire creative process; everything from watching and listening to our meetings, participating in our meetings with webinar and webcast technology, suggesting ideas you wish to share, and guiding us to locations and people whom you feel would be valuable to the project.  This will be a Global tribe of the people, by the people, and for the people! (sorry, I had to get a little dramatic here :-)

We are currently in the process of establishing our non-profit (501-C3) status.  This will act as a vehicle for us to continue educating and sharing with the world the valuable life process’s we are documenting.  We sincerely invite you and anyone you know to join us in this creative collaboration.  Participation in this project is open to anyone with a genuine care for our planet and the communities upon it.

We are actively seeking new members to join the team whom have some form of skills or energy to positively contribute to the collective.  Individuals with skills in video production, sound technology, documentary filming, grant writing, business entity formation, marketing, funding, or web development are in need (not really ‘in need’, yet would be enthusiastically welcomed!).  We are also interested in meeting or speaking with anyone already living in a sustainable community whom is interested in being filmed in the documentary.  We warmly welcome you to our Global community… our Tribe of ONE!

the Global h’Art of Peace
: A collaborative and interactive worldwide art project/competition.

A connected story of love and peace created by artists from around the world through their photography, artwork, poetry and short stories.  Each ‘peace’ is not only the personal expression of that particular artist; it is their expression of peace connected to the life experience of another artist.

the h’Art of Peace Vision
We invites you to join the Global h’Art Peace! – A tapestry of photographs, emotions and words from around the world symbolizing each individuals connection to peace, love and happiness.  This is a story of peace woven by hearts and minds from around the globe. We are inviting individuals from every continent to express their unique connection to peace, and their unique connection to another individual on this planet.  We invite you to not only use your words, art and photography to express your personal story of peace, but to connect your story to that of another artist… allowing each page & chapter of this story to flow seamlessly around the world.  This project will open our minds and hearts to the truth that lies within our collective peace… not only our personal story… a connected personal story.  The Collaborative Art Peace will bring to light the similarities between us… illuminating the common threads we all share no matter what race, creed or religion.  This project gives us the opportunity to celebrate our humanity, creativity and diversity.  We are once again inviting love and art to bring the diverse peoples of this world together in celebration and creation.  My story ties into yours, and yours into mine, and yours into his, and his into hers.  We are not alone in this journey towards peace.

It begins with one image, story or poem… one expression of peace.  Next, you are invited to acknowledge, respect and connect to that expression of peace.  We are not only asking you to represent your personal connection to peace, we are also asking you to weave your expression into the art shared by the person before you in the project.  One goal of this collaboration is to break down the barriers we put up between ourselves and others.  We often begin to form this bubble or shell around our lives and hearts… even though we may interact with others all the time… do we really connect with them… do we really allow them to connect with us?  With every hurt or sad situation in our lives we begin to build up this shield around our hearts… if we are not careful… before we know it we are living alone in our protected bubble.  Yes we have friends and are social, yet how far inside do we let any of these people?  How much of our true selves do we share?  This collaboration is intended to break down the shields of the artists… to really get deep inside…. to break down the shields of everyone involved… to not only look inside of ourselves and express our individual expression of peace… yet to also open, share and connect that experience with another artist.  When we go deep inside… when the heart begins to open… it flows infinitely with pure love, compassion and creativity.  In the end we will have one connected story of peace composed by individuals from around the world… all connected by creation and love.  Peace on Earth through artistic collaboration!

The Human Party 2012: Celebrating ONE moment of Humanity & Peace

The most cohesive, connected, simple and profound undertaking in the history of mankind… uniting ALL beings on Earth in a single moment of peace and love.  It is humor-some (in a somewhat unsettling way) that humanity is in a state where it is necessary to create a collaborative world undertaking and global marketing project to experience a moment of global peace… yet this is where we are at… so we are starting with this… ONE single moment world peace!  The power of thought, intention and positive thinking has been scientifically proven on both its’ individual and collective effects.  All we are asking is for all of us to imagine our human potential, and be open to the possibilities of what can happen if the entire world shares just one connected moment of compassion, love and peace!?  When we say everyone, we mean EVERYONE!  From the most remote tribes in tropical rain forests to the urban centers of New York and Shanghai.  One of the various prophecies of the upcoming end of the Mayan Calendar in the year 2012 is a universal shift in consciousness.  So we are saying why not send a beautiful ripple out into the universe, and into our hearts, that is the size of a 6.7 billion foot tidal wave of consciousness!?  Maybe this is just the ripple necessary to begin our next phase of human evolution and universal existence?!  Here at Tri{be} we say let’s start this next cycle of existence on a positive and loving note!

“Without music life would be a mistake.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

  • A precisely planned moment of celebration on December 21st, 2012 throughout all 24 times zones

  • the world’s largest and most collaborative marketing undertaking in history… the goal of reaching 6.7 billion people with ONE united message!
